Overview:
About a month ago, Acer returned with a new smartphone - the Super ZX, launched at a starting price of 8,990*. Its pricing is quite competitive and provides good value for money in the under 10K segment. Acer seems to be experimenting with phones in India, as this phone is manufactured in India by Indkal Technologies and not by Acer themselves. If Acer "aces" it, they may focus on it for the long term. Although purchasing this phone is not free of risks. Read more to know.
Specifications:

Design and Build:
The design of the phone is quite premium-looking and is similar to other smartphones launched previously. The back is made of polycarbonate, which is common at this price range. Its thickness is 8.6 mm and it weighs about 200 g. Buttons are on the right, SIM slot on the left. Speakers are on the top and the bottom, with two microphones - one primary and one secondary. The phone comes with three color options - Carbon Black, Cosmic Green, and Lunar Blue.

Processor and RAM-ROM:
The Super ZX is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, which is a highly power-efficient 6nm 5G processor that comes with MediaTek HyperEngine, enhancing the phone's performance in high-intensity tasks, mainly gaming. This chipset is mostly used for phones priced at under 10K. It can handle BGMI with graphics set to medium and frame rate set to high. Its AnTuTu score is about 4 lakh.
The phone comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The phone has 3 variants, with the only difference being the amount of RAM, i.e., 4GB, 6GB, and 12GB, with the same amount of storage, i.e., 128GB.

Display:
The phone comes with a 6.78-inch FHD+ (2400x1080p) IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. At 800 nits, it is quite usable even under sunlight. It is also Widevine L1 certified. The bezels, especially at the chin, are noticeable, which is common at this price range; however, the punch-hole camera makes up for it. It has an 85.3% screen-to-body ratio (approximate value). It does not support HDR playback.
Software:
It comes with the latest Android 15 software, which is a custom ROM based on stock Android and is named "Acer Official Version 2.0." It also comes with minimal bloatware. There is, however, no information on the software update situation, which is quite important for any smartphone regardless of its price. The Acer official website does not even advertise the software of this phone, which is concerning and builds up on the risks of buying this phone.
Tech creators have experienced noticeable software lags, especially in the camera app. The camera app seems to be taking too much time to process an image when clicked in portrait mode, and until then, no other action can be performed, including exiting the camera app itself. The software needs a few tweaks; we hope Acer is already aware of this and actively working on it.
The phone comes with many special functions such as app sidebar, app lock, smart island, app cloning, and call recording. The call recording feature is provided by Acer, which works independently on top of Google Dialer and has no "call announcement." We doubt and hope this does not violate any Google Dialer policies.

Camera:
The rear camera setup consists of 64MP (Main), 2MP (Depth), and 2MP (Macro). The camera in the punch-hole is a 13MP one. Tech Creators state the phone has an average camera and can capture good photos in daylight conditions; however, it lacks in low-light pictures. The rear camera supports up to 2K video recording and 1080p video recording on the selfie camera.

Battery and Charging:
The phone boasts a 5000mAh battery which supports 33W fast charging. The phone charges 50% in 35 minutes. Amazon states that the phone has 36 hours of talk time. There is a lack of information on the internet regarding battery life and real-world testing. We did, however, find an Amazon review that states it takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes to charge from 0-100%.
Other:
The phone has stereo speakers which deliver standard quality sound, as per Tech Creators. The phone comes with a hybrid card slot, which means you can use either 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM card along with a microSD card. In network connectivity, the phone supports 4G, 5G, VoNR, although it lacks carrier aggregation (4G+). It supports 10 5G bands, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and USB 2.0. The phone does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted on the power button. Other sensors include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and compass.
Brand Support:
Acer asserts that it offers service in over 100 cities and more than 15,000 pin codes across India. Although Tech Creator Gyan Therapy said the call centres appear to lack precise information on the service protocol required for this phone, which is concerning given that the phone has already been launched. Tech Creator Techno Ruhez observed that their service is mostly supportive via email and calling via phone seems of no use. So overall their support seems doubtful.
Final Verdict:
Overall if any person looks at only the spec-sheet, he/she would definitely say that this is a good phone under 10k. However, if any person delves into research of this product the harsh reality will be revealed to them. Firstly, Acer only advertises the highlights of this phone on their secondary website (Which only includes their phones section). There is no proper spec sheet on their website which is shocking, we had to research quite heavily for information on this phone (other than highlights) which seemed almost non-existent.
The support from the brand for this phone so far seems doubtful, Software experience is laggy at times alongside other issues. We at ByteSync Network would not recommend this product especially at this point of time. Regardless of the spec sheet, the user experience is also to be looked at. Overall, we feel Acer is experimenting, but they are definitely doing many things the wrong way - No Transparency of specifications, Lack of Internal Team coordination and Service statements. These just hold back the customer from trusting the brand's venture in smartphones, we already have seen brands in the past which release some phones then disappear.
Our overall impression on this phone is 2.5/5 Points. Our score includes not just the physical phone but also after-sales service, software updates, brand transparency and trust. This phone can be only recommended to Users who would like to experiment and test what Acer is trying to do; cannot be recommended to General Consumers.
